Crop insurance employees walk

Crop insurance employees walk

Alan Evans, chair of the SGEU negotiating committee, said the province's offer of 1.5 per cent, two per cent and two per cent pay increases over three years, for a total of 5.5 per cent, is unacceptable.

The SCIC said the union has formally withdrawn its initial wage demand of 7.75 per cent over three years and now has no monetary demand on the table.

You know? I can understand when the sides are 10% different and nobody is budging that a strike may or may not be appropriate. I don't understand why they can't just negotiate, both sides move and get it done.

  1. Considering that many of the farmers filing for crop insurance will have no crops or income, these idiots are very greedy. How many acres will not be seeded this year, meaning how many acres will not be harvested. Watch for the price of everything using grain to go up.

  2. Don't forget cattle Mary. If they can't plant crops, then they likely can't get their haying done. Or feed their cattle.

  3. You can expect no union to settle this summer. Hubich and Bymeon are out to cause chaos prior to an election. If SGEU wanted 7.5 and government countered with 7, they will still walk. Hubich and Bymeon...the puppetmasters of the Sask NDP.
